Wesley United Methodist Church began in the late 1800s as Zion's Rest Church. In 1925, the
church was renamed North Corsicana Methodist Church. In 1962, a new building was built at the present location and renamed
Wesley Methodist Church. In 1968, when the Methodist Church merged with the United Brethren Church, Wesley's name was
changed to Wesley United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Church is part of a Wesleyan movement that now claims over
18 million members of various Methodist churches around the world. We are part of the church
universal. All persons, regardless of race, color, national origin, status, or economic condition are welcomed to attend our
services, receive Holy Communion, and after taking vows, be baptized (if not already) and admitted into membership.
